About CivicUpdate and its sources

An independent civic-information site that collects meeting records and links to local news sources. CivicUpdate is not a government agency.

How records are collected

Source collectors store published meeting dates, titles, locations and document links when available. Agenda topics are excerpts from source documents, not records of votes or adopted decisions. Local news headlines link to the original publishers.

Coverage is partial. A missing record does not establish that a meeting did not occur. A failed source check can leave older records visible. Published times and locations can change; confirm them at the linked government source.

Source discrepancies and corrections

Compare a record with its linked source and check its last-seen date. For questions about the government's publication, use the contact information on that government source. CivicUpdate does not infer cancellations, resignations or adopted decisions from missing records.

Public subscriptions

Place pages link to public RSS and calendar feeds. RSS contains recent meeting records and attributed headlines; calendars contain meeting dates and preserve the identity of changed or canceled records. These public subscriptions do not contain account preferences or private calendar tokens.
